While our 37th Annual Awards Gala will not take place until Monday, November 27th, it’s not too early to start the planning process, the most important aspect being… who will receive this year’s awards?
Are you a restaurateur who has contributed outstanding service to the industry and your community? Are you someone in the hospitality industry whose establishment embodies what it means to be hospitable? Do you know someone who fits these descriptions or who deserves to be recognized for his or her contributions to the restaurant and hospitality industries?
It’s time to nominate yourself, or someone else, for the New Jersey Restaurant & Hospitality Association’s 2017 awards!
The awards and their descriptions are as follows:
- Restaurateur of the Year Award – This award is the highest distinction bestowed by the NJRHA upon a restaurant operator in business for 10 or more years, recognizing lifelong achievement and outstanding service to the industry and community. Nominees must be a previous Gold Plate Award recipient and a member of the NJRHA to be considered for this award.
- Gold Plate Award – This honor, given to someone with 10 or more successful years in the foodservice industry, recognizes current achievement, service to the industry, or participation in the NJRHA. Nominees do not need to be members of the NJRHA.
- Hospitality Award – This honor will be awarded to someone whose establishment (banquet venue, hotel, or restaurant) best embodies the concept of hospitality. Nominees do not need to be members of the NJRHA.
- Deborah Dowdell Lifetime Achievement Award – This honor recognizes lifelong achievement in the industry and the NJRHA.
Applications are due no later than end of business on Friday, April 7th, 2017. The awards recipients will be announced the week of May 8th, 2017.
